I'm pleased to see that a few corporations are finally starting to "get it" when it comes to presenting a more humanistic face to their customers.

The business models of large corporations have created a "bottom-line" mentality that in the long-run has deeply hurt not only the corporation but  America in general. The world has become a hostile, angry, money-grubbing place.  Most employees and customers are so disenfranchised that there seems to be no hope in restoring civility and kindness.

Businesses were originally places of change and were started as an opportunity to serve or make things better for other people.  They've become a means to an end for those in charge to make as much money as possible before they get caught.  Let's go back to making others lives better. It really is the only way to insure longevity of our society, including businesses.

If you feel cheated all the time and taken advantage of by your employer, how likely are you to want to do "the right thing" for the customer?  Not very likely.

Employees who work in such environments quickly take on the corporate culture of their employer and unfortunately take that "I'm going to get mine" attitude into their personal relationships too.

Your responsibility as an individual is to make the change and to stop passing this greed virus to other people, including your children.  Spend more time in serving and caring for others (volunteer) and can change the business climate by extension.

One person really can make the world better for everyone.  Be the bright spot in your place of work.  Be kind, considerate and caring when no one else will.  You will get noticed.  The world can be a place where everyone is valued, not just the wealthy.
